Helsinki Villa

Hello!!

I am so sorry for the lack of blogging, but I was pretty sick for a couple of days and then we were on a cruise so we didn't have Internet connection last night, but now we do so I wanted to post while I could. We are heading farther north tomorrow so I don't know where I will have internet and where I won't.

Today was the first day I have felt up to knitting, so I never got to start my shawl when I planned, but I did start this evening. I'm working away on it and am finding it very nice and relaxing. How are your shawls working up? I am so happy to hear that some of you are joining along with me!! I will try to take a photo and share my progress in the next post.

We are in Helsinki, Finland right now, and we are going to Kuopio tomorrow. I wanted to show you some photos but for some reason I cannot get them to load to blogger. I will try again next post though.

Today I bought some yarn finally! I got some, what I assume to be sock yarn, from Stockmann department store - it had a real haberdashery department!! And then I bought a skein of lovely grey wool from a man down in the market, I will share some pictures of them as well once I get this photo thing figured out.

Anyways, it is after 11pm right now, so I will end this for tonight. I hope you all have a lovely day!!

Much love, xx

P.s. Villa is Finnish for wool :)

  1. Oh gosh! What fun you're having. Sorry you had to be sick for awhile. How awesome to buy yarn in another country!
I'm slowly working on the toddler shawl, having only 167 sts right now on the needle. Your simple pattern is perfect for the colorway I'm using and Malabrigo Rios rocks in texture.

  2. Wow!! You are one lucky woman! It must be oh I don't have the word for it....amazing to see where your roots came from! I know that just doesn't sound right, but I know I wouldn't have the words if I got to see the country of my ancestors. I've been praying for you and Auntie Lisa!
