About Me

I'm a 20-something crafter who had a childhood filled with construction paper, scissors, glue, glitter, play dough, baby dolls, dress-up clothes and a huge imagination.  My hero was Mr. Dressup.  I remember when people would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up and I would think that to be able to make a living crafting would be the best job in the whole world!  I'm now working on making that dream become a reality.

I learned to knit when I was quite young, but didn't really stick with it.  I knit off and on through high-school, but got more serious about it in the Fall of 2008.  It's probably my favourite craft because it's so portable and makes such lovely things.

I took up sewing when I was a teenager, and find it a lot of fun because you can usually make things very quickly.  Also, fashion has always intrigued me, so this is one of my ways of expressing my view of it.

My wonderful Mom taught me how to crochet in the Fall of 2010 and I'm so glad to finally be able to do it!  It is something I have always wanted to be able to do, but with being left-handed no one would teach me because they thought they would have to reverse it for me to understand.  My Mom never said anything about this and just taught me how.  I don't know if I do it differently than others, but the end result is the same so that's all that matters!

I also enjoy baking and find it a great stress reliever.  It's one of those things that just seems to flow out of me from something within.  I'm not as enthusiastic about cooking, but I'm learning how to like it as well.

I'm a Canadian who is 1/2 Finnish (my Mom's side), 1/4 Norwegian and 1/4 of a mixture (English, Dutch, Native American, etc - my Dad's side).  I believe strongly that our heritage plays a big part in who we are and I'm so grateful for who mine has made me to be.  I live on a island that I refer to as my own little P.E.I., where we are surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside and spectacular sunsets.

I'm a born-again Christian and love my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!  Without Him nothing I do would be possible.  I'm forever grateful for who He has made me to be.  I'm so excited to see what He has in plan for my future :)  All the praise and the glory belongs to Him!!
