Blogiversary Giveaway
Hello,
Well, it's finally time for my blogiversary giveaway!! I know I'm a couple months late, but I thought it was better late than never. I will be giving away a sheepy project bag and some beaded stitch markers, both handmade by me, to the lucky winner. To enter all you have to do is leave a comment with your email or Ravelry id on this post. The giveaway will be open for one week, and I will announce the winner on Saturday August 24, 2013.
Here's a close-up of the stitch markers, they will fit up to a US 6 knitting needle. They're made from the tutorial I did awhile back, so even if you don't win you can still make some of your own. They are easy and fun and are great way to use up those cute beads they have in all the shops. Plus, I always like to personalize my knitting, and these are a fun way to do it.
Good luck to all who enter and thank you again for being such awesome blog readers. I am truly Blessed!
xoxo, R

Rather Blue
Hello,
These last few days I have felt very tired. Like I want to climb back into bed and not get up again until next week. I don't know if it's the treatments I've been doing, or from going to bed late for the last while, or what it is exactly. Maybe a combination of the two. I've cut my to-do list down to 5 things I have to do today and 5 things I would like to do if I can, but yet, looking at my list of just 5 things tires me out. Tomorrow I have some appointments in the city and with the way I'm feeling right now I just want to cry when I think about it. I read Lucy's blog post this morning, and I can totally relate to how she feels. There are so many things I want to share with you all, so many things I want to talk about, so many things I want to do, but yet I don't have the energy at the moment to do any of it. I don't want to complain, but I do want to share how I'm really feeling. I feel like when I'm quiet for a while and don't post, people may be wondering what is going on, and one thing I like about my blog is that I can be honest here. So please do forgive me for my pity party. I promise to try and be more cheerful again soon!
With the way everything has been going this last while I totally forgot my blogiversary. It was June 3rd. When the day rolled around, I kept thinking to myself that it was a special date for some reason but I couldn't put my finger on it. I was wondering if it was someone's birthday or something all day. I just finally clued in yesterday. I usually do a giveaway, and I want to do one again this year, but I'm going to aim for probably sometime in the first week of July. That way I have time to get my mind around it and put something together.
Well, I think I will have a little rest before I finish doing some tidying up. I promise to do my best to be in a better mood when I post next.

Blogiversary and 400th Post Giveaway
Hello,
I was planning on posting about this giveaway yesterday but before I knew it, the day had gotten away from me. Bingley the cat is starting to fit in nicely at our house, although interactions between all the animals still requires supervision, which doesn't leave me with much time to get online. Mom has been busy planting her gardens and flowerpots the last few days, so I've been the main supervisor while she's outside. I don't mind though, I've been able to get some knitting done when they are sleeping. I'm now on the final rows of my Whippoorwill. Yay for nap-times!! It's funny because I feel like I'm babysitting the animals as I would little children - making sure they get along, stay out of trouble, don't hurt themselves or each other, entertain them, feed them, etc. It's been good practice for when I have my own kids! Anyways, enough about all that, on to the giveaway! Since I recently celebrated my 3rd year blogiversary and 400th post, I wanted to do something to thank all my wonderful readers.
I'm going to pick 4 lucky winners at random and they will be able to choose a pattern from one of these great designers:
Susan B. Anderson
Anna Hrachovec of Mochimochi Land
Veera Välimäki
SpillyJane
To enter leave a comment at the bottom of this post with your Ravelry id. The giveaway is open until 11:59 PM (EST) Sunday June 10, 2012, I will post the winners on Monday and gift the patterns to your Ravelry inbox. This is open to anyone who has a Ravelry account, if you don't have one yet, I highly recommend it, Ravelry is the best thing since sliced bread!
Good luck to you all!!

400th Post
Hello,
Wow, today is my 400th post, and Sunday marked my 3rd year of blogging. These are great milestones to start the week. The blog has become such a joy to me and I'm so blessed to have such wonderful readers. I want to say a huge "Thank You" to each and every one of you, I'm so grateful that you take the time to stop in for a visit and that you find my ramblings interesting and worthy of a read. I'm planning a giveaway for Wednesday, so keep your eyes open for that....
In knitting news, I finished the June socks early Sunday morning. That's a first, usually I'm stumbling in at the end of the month, just barely squeaking by. This pattern was so much fun though, it practically knitted itself.
Project: Jaywalkers
Started: June 1st, 2012
Finished: June 3rd, 2012
Pattern: Jaywalker by Grumperina
Yarn: Knit Picks Felici in Rainbow
Needles: 2.75mm Signature DPNs
Mods: Cast on 72 stitches for the ribbing and did a short-row heel.
Be back soon with something that is not a sock, bet you didn't expect that!

A Few More Additions
Hello Again!!
I just wanted to pop in to show off a few more things that are making their way into the giveaway :-) Since summer is almost here, I thought a nice beach tote and some summery reading were in order. There's nothing quite like relaxing in the sun flipping through the newest magazines.....it's one of my favourite things to do. Just ask my sister. I remember how we spent hours one particular summer floating in the pool reading the July and August issues of Vogue (which are always the best!). Nowadays, you will find me reading issues of Debbie Bliss (my favourite by far!), Vogue Knitting, and most certainly Interweave Knits while soaking up the sun. This issue has some lovely lacy cardigans, a pair of lacy socks and the cutest Camp Smock by Mary Keenan. It truly is a great issue!!
I also made a few little sparkly stitch markers to add. I can never seem to have too many, and I hope that you are the same way. Plus, it's always so nice to have something pretty to mark repeats and rows I think.
Today is the last day to enter (which you can do here) - you have till midnight!! I will be back tomorrow with the winner :-) Have a great evening everyone!!

2nd Year Blogiversary Giveaway
Hello!!
Yesterday marked my 2nd year of writing this blog!! Wow eh?? In some ways it seems like I've been doing this forever, and in other ways it seems like I just started. A lot has changed over the last two years and I'd like to think that I've improved in both my knitting and blogging. This blog has been a real source of joy in my life and I hope to have many more years of blogging ahead.
To celebrate and to thank you all for coming along on my journey through my crafting and my life, I'd like to host a little giveaway. The picture above shows the main part of the giveaway prize - the book Nature's Wrapture contemporary knitted shawls by Sheryl Thies and a ball of Shoppel-Wolle Crazy Zauberball. There will be a few more added goodies that I don't have finished just yet, but I will leave them as a surprise for now (you never know though, I might share a little peek during the week). I chose these two because: 1. I'm thinking of doing a "Summer of Socks, Shawls and Sweaters" on the blog, where my knitting will be pretty much focused on these projects, and both of these seemed to be quite appropriate. And 2. I've been knitting so many socks lately that I thought I'd give you all a chance to knit some too :-) They're quite fun and I'd like to share the fun with you all!
To be entered to win, please leave a comment with your name/email or Ravelry id so that I can contact you and let you know you've won. I will be keeping the giveaway open until Wednesday June 8th 11:59pm EST. I will choose a winner at random.
Good luck to you all!! And thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog and following along with me through everything! I feel so blessed, and I think of you all as my friends :-) Have a wonderful weekend!!

And the Winners Are....
Hello Knitters,
I've picked the winners for my blogiversary giveaway! I'm so excited for both of them :-)
Winner #1 - (Comment #2) Lisa said...I'd love to be in your giveaway...that yarn is beautiful and I love the project bags, too. Happy Blogiversary!
Winner #2 - (Comment #20) One Sheep said...Happy Blogiversary, and Thanks for the giveaway. The flowers are beautiful, and the prizes are too. If I don't win a prize, may I have some flowers?
Congratulations Lisa and One Sheep!! Please email me at fairytaleknits@live.com with your mailing address and I will get these prizes out to you as soon as possible.
I'm sorry I never got back with pictures of the finished project bags, but the cording I bought was too big, so I need to pick up some smaller ones tomorrow. I will post a finished picture of both before I send them off.
It's been a super long day for me today, so I will be back again tomorrow with an update of my weekend and what I've been up to. Congratulations again to the winners!
Happy Knitting!!

Blogiversary Giveaway!!

Happy "First Day of Summer" Knitters,

I hope you are all enjoying this lovely day! As promised, I'm having my one year blogiversary giveaway today! Are you ready to see the prizes? Well, here they are:

This time I'm having two winners!!

Winner #1 will receive two skeins (one blue 604 and one blue 630) of Blue Sky Alpacas Dyed Cotton as well as one large project bag and one small project bag (made by me).
Winner #2 will receive two skeins (one purple 618 and one yellow 638) Blue Sky Alpacas Dyed Cotton as well as one medium project bag and one small project bag (also made by me).
You can seen the corresponding project bags in the group picture. They're not completely done, that's why I didn't take full pictures of them. I'll try to get some up as soon as they are done. All that's left is to add the drawstrings, but what I had originally bought for them is not going to work so I need to find something else. The larger project bags are big enough to hold medium sized projects, and the small project bags are the right size for socks or small toy projects.
All you have to do to enter is leave a comment at the end of this post. The contest will be open for one week, and I will announce the winners on Monday June 28th, 2010. Good luck to everyone!
I thought I'd leave you all for today with some pictures I took this morning in my sister's garden. What a perfect way to begin the summer, don't you think?

Happy Knitting Everyone!!
P.S. Sorry for the edit, but the post posted itself before I was finished.

One Year!!
Good Morning Knitters,
Today is my blogiversary!! It's been one year since I started blogging. It seems like I've been doing this forever, yet at the same time, it also seems like it was just yesterday I got the idea to start writing about my knitting adventures. I'm so glad that I did, and I've enjoyed every minute of it. It's been wonderful to be able to share my knitting passion with others who feel the same way, especially when I don't have anyone in my house or nearby who I can talk to about such things. I want to thank all my blog readers for taking the time out of your busy days to read what I have to say and leave such sweet, encouraging comments!!
I wanted to celebrate by having a giveaway, but things around here have been to busy lately, I haven't got a chance to plan anything yet. When I talked to my Mom about it, she suggested I wait and host it on the 21st which is also the first day of summer. Really, what better way to start off summer than with a blog giveaway? So that's what I am going to do. It will give me the time I need to prepare everything :-)
On another note, I think my sister is moving into her house this weekend. I hope she would like me to come and stay with her sometime next week. My cousin is coming to down with her girls to help her Mom out while she has surgery, and since she will be staying in the city, I thought if I was up there then she could pop over for a visit. I know she'd like to see the new house too. I hope it all works out.
Today I'm hoping to get a lot of crafty things done. I have quite a list of projects that need completing, but I haven't had the mindset to just sit down and finish them. I need to do some sewing today since I can do my knitting while in the car on the way to town tomorrow. So I should go and get to it!
Have a wonderful day everyone!!
