Hello,
A lot of washcloth/dishcloth making went on here last week. Ever since I finished up my WIPs I seem to have lost both the want to and the enjoyment of knitting and crocheting. Like what is up with that? For once in my life I do not have any nagging or pressing projects and I could cast on anything my little heart desired, and lo and behold, my little heart doesn't desire anything! How can that even be? I thought it would come back by now, but so far...nothing. Hence the washcloths/dishcloths. I had some free time last week where I would usually work on a project, but since I didn't have anything already on the go, and I couldn't think of anything to start, I just knit cloths. One good thing that came out of it was that I got some Valentine's Day gifts done, as you can see above and below.
As well as a nice assortment of simple dishcloths to use both at home and for future gifts.
So even though I felt like I didn't accomplish anything last week, in all reality, I actually didn't do too bad.
Have a great Monday!!
xoxo

Wednesday's Happenings
Hello,
I'm so sorry for not posting regularly lately, I've been a bit under the weather. I'm hoping that I'm coming around the bend though and will be back to my usual self soon.
I haven't felt like working on anything big, so I've been knitting some washcloths. Since Valentine's Day is coming up, I bought Susan B. Anderson's Sweetheart Washcloth pattern and so far I've made two. I hope to make a couple more. They're so cute and it's a really great pattern. I think my favourite part is the crochet border, it finishes it off perfectly.
I also knit up this week's dishcloth for my Dishcloth Challenge. I picked a squirrel because I started it on Monday which was Squirrel Appreciation Day. I thought it was appropriate and cute.
The pattern is Elaine Fitzpatrick's Oh Nuts! Cloth.
I'm still working away on my WIPs and they're coming along well. At the moment I only have two, since I finished a pair of socks off the list this afternoon for my Mom. She really liked how colourful they were so I thought she should have them.
I used Patons Kroy Socks Stripes in Mexicala Stripes and just did a plain top-down vanilla sock with a short-row heel - my standard go-to pattern. I think they will keep her toes nice and toasty, especially in this cold snap we are experiencing.
Well, that's all for today. I think I will go and try to work on my crochet shawl for a while, it always cheers me up. It's made out of Knit Picks Chroma in Lollipop, which I have to say is my favourite colour in that line. If I was stuck on a deserted island and could only pick three things, I would take a ball of it along with a pair of knitting needles and a crochet hook and just make things and rip them out till my heart was content. I don't think I could ever get enough of this colourway.
Have a great Wednesday,
xoxo

A is for Apple
Hello Knitters,
Over the weekend we were told what the theme is for the newest Itty-Bitty Group Swap. It's called "Let's Start at the Beginning," and since A is the first letter in the alphabet, that's the letter we are starting with. The theme is "A is for Apple." I think this is such an inventive way of doing a swap!!
The projects we are required to make are: The Apple Washcloth by Susan, the Apple from the Finger Foods pattern, and the Apple Hat from Spud Says! We are also required to make one more thing that has to do with the "A is for Apple" idea, and include a few other goodies for our swap pal.
I started almost immediately on the apple washcloth and the apple finger puppet. I had suitable yarn in the stash so it worked out great! Usually I have to order the right yarn and wait for quite a while before I get to start a swap project, so being able to cast right on this time was very exciting :-D I ended up starting and finishing both the washcloth and the finger puppet on Saturday. I had all day to just knit and do what I wanted so that's what I did.
Here's my finished washcloth.
The pattern was very fun and fast to make. I haven't made a lot of washcloths, but this one made me want to make more and more!
You seen my apple finger puppet at the beginning of the post, but it has a little surprise you haven't seen....
Since I didn't have any brown sock yarn, I knit the inside with Stroll Hand-Paint in Cartoons. I think it makes the project a little extra special :-D
Well, that's as far as I've gotten on my swap knitting. I thought it would be ok to share these with you all since everyone participating in the swap has to make them, but for the extra little bits, those I will keep a surprise so as not to spoil anything.
I hope you all are having a great Monday!!
Happy Knitting :-D
