Prayers Again
Hello!
Sorry for another absent week. I have so many things to share, but I just haven't seemed to be able to get around to photographing and writing about them. Hopefully soon.
I just wanted to pop in quickly to ask you all for prayer again. A very good friend, who was like a big brother to me when I was growing up, was injured last Saturday night at work. He actually works for my family's company. We don't know the specifics, but he was hit by an excavator's bucket and suffered a broken leg, broken big toe and injuries to both his liver and pancreas. He's at a very good hospital up north right now where they are taking good care of him, and we are trusting the Lord for his total healing. He was doing very good and his liver was regenerating itself, his pancreas seemed to be doing well, and they set both his leg and toe, but today he had a not so good day and they found a cyst on his pancreas that was causing a lot of problems as well as a blood clot in his leg. He went into surgery this evening and came out good. They hooked up a tube to drain the cyst and took care of the blood clot. Now it's the recovery process. So I (and his family and friends) would really appreciate your prayers for a speedy and full recovery!! Thank you so much!!
I just have to tell you all again how much of a blessing you all are in my life, thank you SO MUCH!!

Some Finished Projects for Thursday
Hello!!
Thank you all for your prayers, kind words and thoughts over the last few weeks!! I appreciate them so much and I want you all to know how much they meant to both me and my family during this difficult time. We are all hanging in there and leaning on the Lord to help us through. Some days are better than others but I know we will all make it, it just takes time.
I finally feel up to doing a little blogging, so I thought today I would share a few projects that I finished probably around the end of August and beginning of September.
First up is my Traveling Woman shawl that I started way back last summer, so it is well over a year old. I had somehow gotten off-count on one part and put it aside because I didn't want to fix it at the time. I took it back out at the end of this summer and was able to get it going in the right direction again and finished. I used Knit Picks Stroll Tonal in the Blue Yonder colourway, which is this lovely tropical ocean blue. I added some extra repeats, I think maybe 2, but I can't quite remember. I really like the size of it though and I hope to get lots of wear out of it.
This one is my Summer Flies shawl that I started back around the beginning of the year. I used Knit Picks Chroma Fingering yarn for it in the Galapagos colourway. It's tropical looking as well....I seem to have a theme going here! The yarn makes this a very soft and warm little shawl to wear any time of the year. The pattern was a fun one because it was always changing. I enjoyed this one very much.
And lastly for today, this is my Tangle-Twister Scarf. I started this one back in the early spring. It was for working on in the car since it's a relatively easy pattern to work. However, it managed to get sent to the sidelines once the warmer air started to move in and I was no longer thinking about scarves. It's crocheted out of Knit Picks Imagination in Mermaid Lagoon. (yes, I'm a big Peter Pan fan) It's a long scarf so I found it looks best worn doubled up. It's nice and toasty thanks to the alpaca in the yarn and should make a good winter scarf.
I've started, finished and am currently working on a bunch of other projects that I will hopefully get photographed and up here to share with you all soon! Both crochet and knitting have been a great help to me over the last while and have given me a lot of comfort. It's true what they say, crafting really is therapeutic!!

Some Time
Hello,
I just want to start off by thanking you all for your thoughts and prayers over the last week. We have needed each and every one of them. After I posted last, my cousin Skyler was flown to Sudbury to get better treatment, and he ended up passing away on that Sunday evening. (not this Sunday just past, but the Sunday before). This was a huge shock to our entire family since we had no idea he was in such serious condition. Both my Mom and Dad were able to be there to see him and to be there with the rest of the family. Needless to say, this has been one very hard week. I am still finding it hard to deal with both Joe and Skyler's deaths, so I have decided I need to take a little time away from blogging. I don't know for how long, but I just need a little more time before I am back to myself I think. I know that the Lord is faithful and He promises to not only be close to the brokenhearted, but to actually heal the brokenhearted as well, so I know I am in good Hands!! He has been our strength through this all and I would appreciate your prayers for my whole family right now. This is going to take some time, but we all know Skyler is in Heaven with Jesus where he is completely healed and whole and is having a wonderful time!! That brings us such comfort and joy because we will see him again someday :)

Much Needed Prayers
Hello,
I need to ask a favour of you all. My cousin Skyler is in the hospital and has been in and out a couple of times over the last week or so. He is having trouble with his breathing and seems to have some sort of infection in his lungs. They're not sure if it is pneumonia or something else, but whatever it is, it causes him to not be able to breathe very well at all. He has been very scared and he is a tough kid, so I know that this is really hard on him. He has other health problems as well which make this even harder. He needs prayers so very much!! Also, this past week one of his dearest friends, someone he and his brother Nathan looked up to as a big brother was killed in an airplane crash in Russia. This was the person we went to Florida in May to visit. He was a very wonderful man and this has been so hard on both the boys and their family as well as the rest of my family. Prayers are needed for us all, and for his family too as we try to cope with this. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart!! I don't know when I will be able to blog again, but I will do my best to keep you all updated on how things are going.

Forest Friends Baby Blanket: The End
Pattern: Neat Ripple Pattern from Attic24
Started: August 11th, 2011
Finished: August 28th, 2011
Size: 37" long and 29" wide.
Yarn and Colours: Bernat Satin Solids Worsted Weight. 2 balls (although I didn't have to use very much of the second ball) each: Mocha, Lagoon, Banana, Fern and Camel.
Hook: 4.5mm (I used 5.5mm for the beginning chain.)
Number of Rows: 82 rows. 41 colour stripes.
Colour Repeats: 8 + 1 row of brown on the end.
Me: Very, very happy!!
