Hello,
I'd like you to meet Maybellene the Cow, isn't she a cutie? She's the plushie I was working on for the Fresh Stitches June CAL. One thing I like best about making toys is that you have a sweet little friend when you're done. This was a very fun and well-explained pattern and great for an almost beginner toy crocheter like me. I can hardly wait to make another Fresh Stitches pattern now, I'm thinking it will be the Raccoon from Stacey's Woodland Animals Craftsy course. I picked up all the supplies I need at Michael's the other day so I'm all ready to get started.
In some knitting news, I'm on the boarder on Mom's Stripe Study Shawl right now. I think I'm at 2 1/2" and it needs to be a total of 4" before I can bind off, so it's getting close. If I dedicate some time to it this weekend I should be able to get it done.
These two things are what I have been working on mostly this week. I really hope to get Mom's shawl done so that I can start next week fresh and maybe cast on for something new. We will see how it goes.
Happy Weekending,
xoxo

McHenry
Hello!!
I finished McHenry!! Isn't he so cute?? This was a delightful pattern to knit, as are all of Susan's patterns. I had so much fun watching him come together and get a personality of his own. He seems like the happy-go-lucky type to me.
I used Knit Picks Comfy Sport, which makes him all huggable and squishy - exactly what a stuffed toy should be. It's a little sad to have to part with him but I think he's going to make a really fun Christmas present!
Much Love, xoxo

A Couple WIPs
Hello!
Wow, it's Friday already! I don't know where this week has gone, it's just flown right by. I'm happy that the weekend starts soon though, there's so many fun things happening. Tomorrow our Pancake House is open, so my Mom and I are going to go there for an early lunch, and then one of the towns on the Island is having their annual Christmas Craft Bazaar, so we are going to go and do a little early Christmas shopping!! I'm hoping to find some things for my swap partner to add to her package, as well as a few other goodies for my family's stocking stuffers. My sister may even come down for the day and join us, which would be so much fun! This Christmas Craft Bazaar is something I look forward to every year. It's always so neat to see what new and creative things people are making, and it's a good chance to support our local artists.
In the knitting department, I have a couple of WIPs to share today! I've been working on McHenry by Susan B. Anderson from the new Interweave Knits Holiday Gifts issue:
Susan's patterns are always such fun to knit! I finished his limbs, tail, spot and collar last night and now he only needs to be assembled and get a face. McHenry is a Christmas gift for someone special, because really, doesn't everyone want a dog for Christmas??
The other WIP for today is my Lizzie Bennet's Shawlette by Anne K. Riley. I mentioned this before. It is for the KAL that I joined in the Knitting with Jane Group last month. I started mine late, due to other knitting commitments that needed to be finished first, so I didn't get mine finished on time. However, I am enjoying knitting it and try to work on it, even if just a little bit, everyday. The colour I chose for mine is the Meryton colourway, which is a very lovely green.
I'm still working on the boarder. I have 23 of the scallops done, and there are 40 in total, so I'm a little over half-way done this part. Next I need to pick up the stitches and work the body, which is stockinette, so it should go a bit faster. I'm okay with it taking a while though. It's for me and I don't mind waiting. It's such a pleasure to work on so it's all worth it.
Well, I hope that you all have a great weekend and enjoy yourselves!!

Sheldon
Hello!!
Here's the first one of the projects that I made a while back. This is Sheldon the turtle from the Winter 2006 Issue of Knitty. I wanted to knit this adorable guy for well over a year after hearing about him on a Knit Picks Podcast and I finally cast on for him in July. He didn't take long at all, but I had to put him aside when we left for our trip. All that was left to do was sew the ends of the applied I-cord together and attach his legs, but those were the things I was looking forward to the least. Once we got back, I had a big finishing weekend and got him all done in literally like an hour - so in reality, I put off doing those things that took hardly any time at all.....yes, this does seem to be a trend with me..... Anyhoo, now that he is done I just adore him and don't think I can part with him :) He has taken up residence on my shelf at the moment. Here are a few more pictures:
You can check out all the yarn info and such on my Ravelry page if you're interested. His shell is removable and there are patterns to make "themed" shells for him so you can dress him up. Ones like this, or this, or even this! Cute eh? The applied I-cord was not my favourite thing to do, but since this was my first time doing one, that might have been why. That being said, it sorta doesn't make me want to make any extra shells for him, but who knows, I may have to do at least one more, this cowboy shell is too cute!
Much Love, xx

Happy Spring!!!
Happy first day of Spring knitters!!!
Yay!! I'm so excited that Spring is finally here :-) The weather has been beautiful, although today is a bit colder than what the week has been, but still warmer than usual for this time of year I think. This is my favourite season, I love to watch everything change, it's all so beautiful. God is doing so much creating; making new flowers, leaves, baby animals...it's all so uplifting and inspiring. Makes me want to be creative too!
This is going to have to be a quick post since I have some icing flowers to make, but I wanted to let you all know (if you don't already) Susan B. Anderson has created another amazing free pattern for the Spud and Chloe blog, Spud Says! and this time it is an Easter theme!! It's a reversible duck to bunny toy and is absolutely adorable! You can check it out here! By the way, this is the pattern she designed for the knitting classes she held at some of her book signings recently, so if you are like me and didn't get a chance to go to one, you can now make the pattern just like everyone who did. I know what I am going to be knitting later :-)
Have a great day everyone!!
