Easter

Hello Again!

I'm back today with some Easter re-caping!  Even though Easter was late this year, I still found that it sort of snuck up on me.  There was a lot of FrAnTic knitting/crocheting to get my gifts done on time.  The bunny Hop was the last to be completed and I had to make my sister stay late at our house on Sunday in order for me to finish him up and pop him into her Easter basket.  He did turn out cute though, if I do say so myself!

This little bunny is Chester, and he hopped in to my Mom's basket.  As you can see, he's quite the friendly little fellow...waving to the camera and all!!  I made him the weekend before Easter when my sister and I knit this pattern together as a knit-along.

These ladies flew home to live with my Mom and sister.  You can find the adorable pattern here!

And last but most certainly not least; I very quickly crocheted these chickens up for my Dad and brother-in-law.  I wanted to make something manly, and what could be more manly than a pair of roosters I ask you????

All in all, we had a lovely Easter holiday.  It was wonderful to get to spend some time all together as a family and reflect on what our Saviour Jesus Christ did for us.  Words cannot begin to express my gratitude and thankfulness for what He did for me!

I hope all of you had a lovely holiday as well :)  And thank you for being so patient with me as I catch you up on everything!!  I think I'm quite near finished!!

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Emmie's 5th Birthday

Happy Saturday!!

April 17th was my Yorkie Emerson Rose's 5th birthday.  We didn't have a party like last year, but my sister spent the night on Saturday, so she was there for the birthday-present-opening in the morning.  Emmie loves my sister, so it was very special for her I'm sure!

Here she is opening her present from Mom - which was a toy skunk.

It was quite the hit!  She loves anything with a squeaker inside. (It's early morning, that is why we are in our jammies).

I had a special surprise for her.....

Her very own puppy-sized Summer Garden Blanket!  She had previously been sleeping with a face cloth as a blanket, so I thought it was time that I made her a real one.  I used up more of the scraps from my Lucy Bag for it, and it turned out really cute.

She had to have a mid-morning nap to try it out.

Looks like it fit the bill.  She has been sleeping with it every night since she got it, so I say it was a successful gift :)  Happy Birthday Emerson Rose!!

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Baby Summer Garden Blanket

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are all having a lovely Friday!!  Just think, the weekend is in sight!!  I need to get you all caught up on my projects I've been working on, it's been so long since I've done that that I'm way behind......

I made this blanket for my friend A's new little baby girl.  I started it before we left for California, but since I couldn't take it with me, I didn't get it finished until the weekend after we got back.  I made it a smaller version of Lucy from Attic24's Summer Garden Square Throw so it would be baby-sized.  I used up the scraps from my Lucy Bag and still had yarn left over!!  This is such a great pattern!!  I'd like to eventually make a larger version for myself! lol

Well, that's all for today!  Have a great start to the weekend all!!

Happy Knitting and Crocheting :)

Common Threads Knit Shop

Hello!!

Isn't that view up there lovely??  That's what we seen while driving along the 101 going back to Carlsbad.  I could get use to that pretty easily!!

This day I got to go to both The Black Sheep and Common Threads.  I was on the hunt for some Tahki Cotton Classic to add to the skeins I got from Elly and Susan in the Itty-Bitty swaps so that I can make a blanket for my bed.  I had a pattern already in mind so I knew the colours that I wanted.  It was a lot of fun to go searching for the right ones!

First I went to Common Threads.  It was a cute little shop full of lots and lots of yarn!

You could even sit and knit in the sun if you'd like!

Here's the little friend I was talking about yesterday!!  This is Cocoa having an early morning nap.

I didn't find all the colours I needed here (even with all that yarn!), so I went back to The Black Sheep for the rest.  I headed back to the Inn with a bag full of gorgeous GORGEOUS yarn!!  What a happy day I had!!

I've already started my blanket (and am so excited to show you!), but I have a few more posts to catch you all up on what I've been up to these last couple of weeks.

See you tomorrow!!

The Black Sheep Yarn Shop

Hello!!

I am SO SORRY for not blogging in over two weeks!!  I have been wanting to, but I was so busy that I just didn't have time to sit down and actually write a post.  Our Pancake House closed for the season on Monday.  I had a great time waitressing and baking this year....it was such an awesome experience!!  I already miss the people I worked with!  However, now I should have more time for blogging and doing a little more creating :)

Anyhoo....I thought I'd do a little back-tracking here.  I have a few more posts from our trip to California that I'd like to share with you all if you don't mind???  Today's is about The Black Sheep yarn shop that I went to.  My lovely Mother took some snapshots while I did my shopping.....

I thought these baskets were so cute!!

This store was chock-a-block FULL of yarn!!  I had a hard time figuring out what to look at first!!  I actually got to go here twice.  The first time I picked up some gift yarn and the second time I came back for some more colours of Tahki Cotton Classic for my soon-to-be blanket.  The staff was very friendly and helpful and the shop was just beautiful......I could spend hours here.  I would definitely go back again!

Tomorrow I will take to you the other yarn shop I visited.....I met a lovely little friend there that I can't wait to show you!

Ta ta for now!!

A Quick Note

Hello!!

I just wanted to quickly let you all know that I am home now, and yes, I am alive and well.  Things have been super duper busy since I got back, so I haven't had time to blog.  I've been trying to get my baking products back in production since they ran out while I was away, so that has taken a lot time, and I've also been having trouble with Ravelry again - I cannot reply to posts, or open my message box or even look up patterns!  I can still read the posts, but not respond, and I'm so sorry!!  I hope it starts working again soon because I don't want to miss out on any more happenings.  If you need to reach me, you can email me at my email on my contact page.  But hopefully things will be up and running for me again very soon.

Have a great Monday everyone, I'm off to work!!

Take care!!

The Jazz Sock

Hello Knitters!!

I just thought I'd pop in real quick to share a picture of my sock I'm working on.  I'm using the Regia Designer Line by Erika Knight in the Flamenco Sketches colourway that Elly sent me in my "Let's Start at the Beginning" swap package.  I'm just doing a basic plain vanilla sock, since a wanted something super easy and didn't want any complicated stitch patterns competing with the beautiful colours.  I started this in the car on the way to Detroit, then picked it back up again once we got here.  I've been carrying it around in my purse just in case I have a few spare minutes here and there when I can work on it - those have been few and far between though.  I don't know if I will get the pair done while out here, but I hope to get at least this one finished.  It's made for some very relaxing and enjoyable knitting time.  I really like watching the colours change  Oh the simple things that amuse me!!

I hope you are all having a wonderful Monday!!

Bunny Crochet

Hello!!

Just popping in this morning to share this picture of the crochet projects I did on the plane.  These are the bunny hats that Susan sent the kit for me to make in my swap package.  They're pretty adorable if I do say so myself! lol  This is an awesome pattern that is super easy and quick.  I made the blue on in the 6-12 month size and the pink one in the 1-2 year size.  I got them both done 30 minutes before we landed - and I crocheted the pink one really slowly so that I wouldn't have to sit there with idle hands!  The yarn (Spud & Chloe Outer) is wonderful to work with!!!!!!  It's so soft and cushy - just absolutely gorgeous.  And the colours are beautiful too.  I really had a lot of fun with these, so thank you Susan!!!!

I thought I'd quickly share a couple more photos with you that I took yesterday when my Mom and I walked down to the ocean.  I hope that's alright, I don't want to bore anybody.

I thought those flowers were just so pretty!!  The orange ones are such a striking colour.

Well, that's all for this morning.  I'm still waiting for everyone else to meet up for breakfast.  My body seems to still be on "home time" which is three hours ahead of here so right now it is 10:45am at home and only 7:45am here.  I do enjoy being up early though, it's so beautiful and inspiring!!  I hope you all have a lovely day!!

Much love!! xx
